Robust, easy to grow heliconia with erect spiralling inflorescencia made of bold orange bracts. The show starts in June and lasts through the warmer months.

Climate:

It thrives in subtropical conditions and it is drought tolerant once a clump is established.

Size:

It will stay low and compact if kept in full sun and will bloom at height 5′ to 16′. Full sun to 50% shade. Cool hardy! With shade and shelter it will double this size.

Characteristics:

Beginning in mid to late Spring, you start to see the tops of the stalks fatten up, and then look out, here come the blooms. Staircasing bracts, up to 2 feet tall, start opening up on the top of the stalks, out in clear view above all the green foliage. The coloration is very nice as well- bright red tips fading to orange and then yellow in the center. The blooms will sit on the plant for a month or more- and then, a few months later, it will do another bloom flush! It just loves to put out flowers.

Please do adequate research on the plant you are purchasing regarding climate, zones, watering, care and environment for optimal success before purchasing.
